Data processed when you double-click a word

• The selected word or short phrase, and a shortened context sentence around it (about 280–400 characters)
• Target language and display preferences
• A random device identifier (x-device-id) used only to rate-limit requests — not your identity
• If you tap Good / Not good: the word, context sentence, translation, model name, and rating are sent to our server to improve quality (kept up to about 90 days)

Google Sign-in and Drive App Data (optional)

You do not need to sign in to translate. If you sign in with Google, the extension receives your email, name, profile photo, and Google account ID (sub) so we can recognize you.

Google will ask for Drive App Data permission only to save vocabulary you choose to save into a hidden folder in your Drive, so it can sync across your devices. The extension does not read or change your ordinary Drive files (documents, photos, and so on).

A local copy is kept in chrome.storage.local for offline use. Our Worker only forwards vocabulary to the Drive API for this purpose.

Backend

Translation requests go to a Cloudflare Worker operated by the developer. The Worker calls Google Gemini / Vertex AI. The Google API key is not packaged inside the extension.

Cache stores only the pair (word + shortened context + translation), with a limited lifetime. We may record an anonymized IP and/or device ID to enforce usage limits.

What we do not do

• We do not save the full contents of the web page
• We do not sell user data
• We do not use data for advertising
• We do not embed API keys in the installed extension files

Data deletion

You can delete saved words in the extension popup, sign out of Google, or email us to request deletion. Translation cache expires automatically. Ratings on the server are kept for a limited time (up to about 90 days).
